Origami Miscanthus
Pampas grass has become the darling of modern interior decor—those soft, feathery plumes showing up in every Instagram-worthy vase. Here is a paper version you can make yourself, no green thumb required.
It is a wonderfully soothing fold: crease, cut, then roll the thin strips into delicate little plumes. Make a few stems, fan them in one direction, and you have got a tiny dried-flower arrangement that never wilts.
Step 1:
Fold the origami paper in half along the dotted line and make a crease.

Step 2:
Cut along the crease lines with scissors.

Step 3:
Place the separated origami paper with the white side facing up, fold it in half along the dotted line, and make a crease.

Step 4:
Make a crease only on the upper half by aligning the left and right edges.

Step 5:
Make a crease along the dotted line so that the left and right edges meet at the center.

Step 6:
Make a crease along the dotted line so that the left and right edges line up with the crease you just made.

Step 7:
Make a crease along the dotted line so that the left and right edges align with the crease right next to them.

Step 8:
Cut a small notch with scissors between the crease you just made and the other creases.

Step 9:
Starting from the lower-right corner, roll the thin strip of origami paper in the direction of the arrow.

Step 10:
Apply glue to the area marked by the line, then continue rolling the rest the same way.

Step 11:
Gently bend the tassels so they all fan in one direction, and your pampas grass is complete.
